    Purpose of the role:

    Undertakes complete design of moderately complex software applications or components.

    Applies agreed standards, guidelines, patterns and tools. Assists as part of a team in the design of components of larger software systems. Specifies user and/or system interfaces.

    Creates multiple design views to address the different stakeholders’ concerns and to handle functional and non-functional requirements. Assists in the evaluation of options and trade-offs.

  • Field Services Engineer / Simulator Technician More

    Purpose of the role:

    This hybrid role will primarily provide FSE expertise to CUAS operations following routine installation, maintaining, testing and evaluating a range of sensors such as radars, radio frequency (RF) detectors, and various camera systems. Ensuring the maintenance and ongoing operation of the Training and reference facility (TRF). The secondary role will act as backfill cover at RAF Odiham providing Simulator Technician cover delivering level 1 & 2 planned and reactive maintenance on the Mk6 Chinook simulator.  

    Key job requirements and responsibilities:

    • First line level of trouble shooting and fault resolution with the ability to work autonomously as required.
    • Responsible for fault finding, maintenance repair and installation and commissioning of security and/or electromechanical systems.
    • Responsible for carrying out software, hardware, basic network configuration.
    • To assess equipment performance in both test and live environments.
    • To complete technical reports and review technical data and drawings.
    • Carry out planned maintenance for the Mk6 Chinook simulator.
    • Control the database; ordering and replenishing parts, ensuring parts & spares are recorded and tracked using the inventory management system.

  • Counter Drone Security Systems Operators (FTC)More

    Operational Solutions Limited (OSL) is an industry leading company at the forefront of Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS/Counter Drone) innovation and development in both the civilian and military environments. Due to expansion, we are now looking to recruit a Counter Drone Security Systems Operator to join our existing Operations team on a 6 month fixed term contract with a potential to go permanent.

    The role involves being at the cutting edge of providing counter drone/security services to large scale international customers. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring the drone and perimeter detection system’s output from various national infrastructure sites. You will be part of a team operating 24/7 in our purpose-built Operations Room onsite in Padworth Reading.

    On detection of any unauthorised drones or personnel operating unlawfully in restricted areas, you will be the first line response liaising directly with the risk managers and key stakeholders responsible for safe operations at key Sites. You will also liaise directly with police response teams and provide key information to enable them to intercept drone pilots and personnel acting unlawfully.

    You may also on occasion get the opportunity to support onsite operations teams with Drone and Engineering / maintenance operations and may be put forward to become certified as a commercial UAV pilot.
